About

David Ortolano is a founding ensemble member of the Band of Toughs, Theater Company based in Boulder.  He is a director, designer and producer of live events, former director of the Performing Arts Center at Naropa University in Boulder, Colorado and served as guest faculty teaching courses in Ensemble Practice, Performance Studies and Theatrical Design and Production. He is also the founder of the Boulder International Fringe Festival a Colorado Nonprofit and 501c3.

David has received formal training in Theater, Dance and Music, Balinese Performance Art & Culture, Lighting Design, Sound Design, Non-Profit Arts Management, Red Nose Clown, Dharma Art and Lecoq Physical Theater.

Mr. Ortolano has collaborated with a variety of world-renowned contemporary performers including: Philip Glass, Meredith Monk, Barbara Dilley, Katsura Kan, Steven Segal, Tin Hat Trio, Asylum Street Spankers, Steve Wangh, Leigh Fondakowski, Michelle Mehri-Mousavi and Ruth Zaporah.
